PUBLICATION ETHICS
Jurnal Didactical Mathematics is a peer-reviewed national journal published online and issued twice annually. This journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The present ethical statement delineates the responsibilities and ethical conduct expected from all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, members of the editorial board, peer reviewers, and the publisher (Mathematics Education, Majalengka University, Indonesia). These principles are formulated in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of articles in Jurnal Didactical Mathematics constitutes a fundamental contribution to the advancement of scholarly knowledge in mathematics education. Peer-reviewed publications reflect the quality of academic work produced by authors and the institutions supporting them, while simultaneously reinforcing the principles of the scientific method. Consequently, it is essential to establish and adhere to clearly defined ethical standards governing all aspects of the publication process.
As the publisher, Mathematics Education, Majalengka University assumes full responsibility for safeguarding ethical practices throughout all stages of publication. Editorial independence is strictly maintained, ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial considerations exert no influence on editorial decisions. The Editorial Board also facilitates communication and cooperation with other journals or publishers when such collaboration is deemed necessary.
Publication Decisions
The Editor-in-Chief of Jurnal Didactical Mathematics holds responsibility for determining which submitted manuscripts are accepted for publication. Decisions are based exclusively on the scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of the work to the journal’s scope. Editorial decisions are guided by journal policies and constrained by prevailing legal requirements, including those concerning plagiarism, copyright, and defamation. Consultation with associate editors and peer reviewers may inform the final decision.
Fair Play
Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their intellectual content, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political ideology of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose information regarding submitted manuscripts to any party other than the corresponding author, reviewers, prospective reviewers, editorial advisors, or the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials contained in submitted manuscripts may not be used in an editor’s own research without the explicit written consent of the author.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review supports editorial decision-making and assists authors in enhancing the quality and clarity of their manuscripts.
Promptness
Reviewers who are unable to conduct a timely or competent review must promptly inform the editor and decline the assignment.
Objectivity and Confidentiality
Reviews must be conducted objectively and confidentially. Personal criticism is inappropriate, and all evaluations should be supported by clear and reasoned arguments.
Duties of Authors
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their work. Proper citation, acknowledgment of sources, transparent disclosure of conflicts of interest, and prompt correction of significant errors are mandatory ethical obligations.
