Peer Review Policy

Jurnal Didactical Mathematics implements a structured, independent, and fully online peer review process. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are processed through the journal's online submission and review management system and evaluated according to the journal's editorial standards and peer review policy.

1. Initial Editorial Screening. All submitted manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial team to assess their alignment with the journal's Focus and Scope, compliance with the journal's manuscript requirements, basic methodological adequacy, originality, and research integrity. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's essential requirements may be declined before external peer review.
2. Reviewer Assignment. Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers are selected based on the subject matter, methodological approach, and scholarly focus of the manuscript. The journal applies a double-blind peer review process in which the identities of authors and reviewers are not disclosed to one another.
3. Scholarly Evaluation. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the quality and significance of the research problem, relevance and use of the literature, clarity of the research gap and objectives, appropriateness and rigor of the methodology, theoretical or conceptual foundation, alignment between mathematical content and the educational problem under investigation, adequacy of evidence, validity of the interpretation, and clarity of the study's scholarly contribution.
4. Review Recommendations. Reviewers provide constructive and evidence-based comments and recommend one of the following editorial outcomes: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. Reviewer recommendations constitute an important basis for editorial decision-making but do not by themselves determine the final decision.
5. Review Timeline. Reviewers are generally expected to complete their evaluations within approximately two weeks. The actual review period may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and the need to secure appropriate independent reviewers.
6. Revision and Resubmission. When revision is required, authors are expected to respond systematically to reviewer and editor comments and clearly indicate the changes made to the manuscript. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers or evaluated by the editor, depending on the extent and nature of the revisions.
7. Editorial Decision. The final decision to accept, request further revision, or reject a manuscript is made by the editor based on the manuscript's scholarly quality, the reviewers' evaluations, the authors' responses to required revisions, and the journal's editorial standards. Acceptance is not guaranteed by completion of the peer review process.
8. Confidentiality. The Editorial Board and reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, reviewer reports, author responses, and all related editorial communications. Manuscript content must not be used for personal, professional, or other purposes outside the review process.
9. Conflict of Interest. Reviewers and editors must disclose any potential conflict of interest that could affect the impartial evaluation or editorial decision concerning a manuscript. Individuals with a relevant conflict may be excluded from the review or decision-making process.
10. Responsible Use of AI. Reviewers must not upload, disclose, reproduce, or process confidential manuscript content using generative AI or other external tools in a manner that compromises manuscript confidentiality. AI-assisted tools must not replace the reviewer's independent scholarly judgment. Any use of AI in the review process must comply with the journal's Responsible Use of AI Policy.
