Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submitted manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by another journal. If any part of the manuscript has been previously disseminated (e.g., preprint, conference paper, or thesis), this has been clearly disclosed in the Comments to the Editor.
  • The manuscript falls within the aims and scope of SPHERE: Sport Pedagogy, Health and Exercise Research.
  • The manuscript has been prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), OpenOffice (.odt), or Rich Text Format (.rtf).
  • The manuscript is written in clear, grammatically correct English and has been carefully proofread before submission.
  • The manuscript has been prepared using the official SPHERE Article Template and follows all formatting requirements specified in the Author Guidelines.
  • All references cited in the text are included in the reference list, and vice versa. Where available, DOIs or URLs have been provided for all references.
  • The manuscript follows the APA 7th Edition citation and referencing style.
  • The manuscript uses 12-point Times New Roman, single spacing, italic font where appropriate (instead of underlining except for URLs), and all tables and figures are embedded within the text at appropriate locations.
  • All figures and tables are original, clearly labeled, appropriately cited, and have sufficient resolution for publication.
  • The corresponding author is encouraged to provide an ORCID iD, and all co-authors are encouraged to register one.
  • All authors have made substantial scholarly contributions to the work, approved the final manuscript, and agreed to its submission.
  • All financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest have been disclosed. If none exist, the manuscript includes the statement: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
  • All sources of research funding have been disclosed. If the research received no external funding, the manuscript includes the statement: "This research received no external funding."
  • For research involving human participants or animals, approval from the appropriate ethics committee has been obtained, and the approval information is included in the manuscript where applicable.
  • Where required, informed consent has been obtained from all research participants.
  • The manuscript includes a Data Availability Statement, indicating where the supporting data can be accessed or explaining any restrictions on data availability.
  • Any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the preparation of the manuscript has been transparently disclosed. AI tools have not been listed as authors, and the authors accept full responsibility for the manuscript.
  • The manuscript contains no plagiarism, fabricated data, falsified results, manipulated images, duplicate publication, or other forms of research misconduct.
  • The authors understand that all submissions will be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process.
  • The authors agree that, upon acceptance, the article will be published under the journal's licensing policy and grant the journal the right of first publication while retaining copyright.
  • The authors understand that all manuscripts are subject to an initial editorial assessment followed by a double-blind peer-review process.
  • By submitting this manuscript, the authors confirm that all information provided is accurate and that they agree to comply with the editorial policies, publication ethics, and publication procedures of SPHERE: Sport Pedagogy, Health and Exercise Research.
