JMCI is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing theoretically grounded and evidence-based research at the intersection of mathematical cognition and instructional practice.

The journal investigates how mathematical understanding develops through reasoning, representation, interaction, and instructional mediation.
