Implementation of Project-Based Learning Model Based on Basic Movement Games in Physical Education Learning in Elementary Schools

Physical Education learning in elementary school still faces the challenge of low basic movement skills and student learning motivation due to the use of less varied learning methods. This study found that the application of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model based on basic motion games can be a fun and meaningful innovative solution in improving students' motor skills and learning motivation. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of game-based PjBL model in learning Physical Education in elementary school. The research method used quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of fourth grade students of SD Negeri 12 Purwodadi, with a sample of 2 classes (experimental and control classes), 30 students each. The instruments used include basic movement skills tests, study motivation questionnaires, and student activity observation sheets. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-test. The results showed that students who took part in learning with the game-based PjBL model experienced a significant increase in basic movement skills and learning motivation compared to students who took part in conventional learning. In conclusion, this model is effectively applied in Physical Education learning because it not only improves the physical aspects of students, but also develops active engagement, collaboration, and interest in learning. Further research, it is recommended that this model be tested at different school levels and contexts, and examined in more depth through a qualitative approach to explore the experiences of students and teachers in its implementation.
