The Influence of Learning Management and School Climate on Student Learning Outcomes at Elementary Schools in Karangpilang District

Abstract

This research is motivated by the disparity in the quality of basic education in Karangpilang District, Surabaya, which is categorized as being in the lower education cluster, according to data from the Education Report Card and the 2024 ANBK. This study examines the simultaneous influence of learning management and school climate on student learning outcomes, which has not been widely explored in the local context. This study aims to determine the partial and simultaneous influence of these two independent variables on the learning outcomes of primary school students. A quantitative research method was employed, incorporating survey techniques. The study population comprised all elementary school students in the district, with 143 respondents selected proportionally. Data were collected using a closed questionnaire on a 4-point Likert scale, which has been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS version 26. The results showed that both learning management and school climate have a positive and significant partial and simultaneous effect on student learning outcomes. An R² value of 0.648 indicates that these two variables explain 64.8% of the variation in learning outcomes. This study confirms the importance of improving the quality of learning management and school climate as a strategic effort to improve learning outcomes for primary school students, particularly in areas facing significant educational challenges.
