Abstract

Education is fundamental to a nation's progress, and teachers play a central role as the main executors. Teacher performance is a key factor in improving educational quality. This study aims to examine the effect of a reward system, work motivation and work ethic on the performance of primary school teachers in the Asemrowo district, either partially or simultaneously. The research method uses a quantitative correlational approach with survey techniques. The sample consisted of 87 teachers from a population of 111, selected by simple random sampling. The instruments, in the form of 40-item Likert scale questionnaires (1–4), have been tested for validity and reliability (α > 0.7). Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26, including classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results showed that the reward system, work motivation and work ethic have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The R² value of 0.516 indicates that 51.6% of the variation in teacher performance is explained by these three variables. This study's uniqueness lies in its simultaneous analysis of the lower education sector, providing methodological support for generalisation and practical use as a policy reference. Further research is suggested to expand the variables and scope of the region.
