Abstract

The lack of active student engagement in instilling the values of mutual cooperation through Civics Education (PKn) has become a major issue in character education at the elementary level. This study aims to examine the implementation of the social inquiry model in Civics Education, specifically in teaching the value of mutual cooperation. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, conducted through observation, interviews, and document analysis involving sixth-grade students at a private Islamic elementary school in Purwakarta. The results showed that the social inquiry model encouraged students to think critically, collaborate in groups, and internalize the value of mutual cooperation contextually through participatory classroom activities. Observations also revealed high levels of enthusiasm and responsibility among students throughout the learning process. It can be concluded that the social inquiry model is effectively applied in Civics Education to strengthen the value of mutual cooperation in elementary schools.
