Abstract

Penerapan Internet Of Things dapat dimanfaatkan untuk berbagai hal seperti smart city, smart public transportation system, digital payment dan semacamnya. Internet of Things di Indonesia saat ini implementasinya belum merata, Internet of Things lebih banyak diimplementasikan hanya untuk mendukung konsep kota cerdas, seperti yang dilakukan di kota-kota besar. Sedangkan untuk daerah lain seperti perdesaan, pinggiran kota dan luar pulau belum banyak diterapkan padahal mempunyai potensi yang sangat prospektif untuk dapat dilakukan penerapan teknologi Internet of Things, misalnya bidang pemerintahan, pendidikan, pertanian dan kesehatan. Hal ini disebabkan sebagian besar penduduk Indonesia belum memiliki pemahaman dan pengetahuan mengenai konsep Internet of Things terutama generasi muda usia sekolah. Melihat situasi tersebut, perlu dilaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam rangka menyebarluaskan pengetahuan, khususnya dalam ranah IoT. Pengabdian ini  mengangkat tema: “Pengenalan Internet of Things (Iot) Di SMP Islamic Garden School (IGS) Melalui Pelatihan Penerapan Sistem Smart Home”. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat siswa/siswi memiliki pemahaman dan pengetahuan tentang konsep Internet of Things, dengan pelatihan ini diharapan muncul ide atau gagasan baru dari generasi muda yang mampu mengidentifikasi serta menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada di sekitar dengan memanfaatkan teknologi Internet of Things
