Pengaruh Pemberian Ransum Mengandung Cacahan Eceng Gondok (Eichornia craassipes) Kering Terhadap Saluran Pencernaan Entog (Cairina moschata) Jantan

This study aims to evaluate the effect of feeding dried water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) cuttings on the digestive tract of male muscovy ducks (Cairina moschata). Water hyacinth is an aquatic plant that has the potential to be used as an alternative feed ingredient due to its abundant availability and high crude fiber content. The research method was experimental with a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments, namely P0 (without water hyacinth), P1 (5% water hyacinth), P2 (10% water hyacinth), and P3 (15% water hyacinth) in the feed and 5 replicates. The parameters observed included the length and diameter of the digestive tract (esophagus, crop, proventriculus, gizzard, duodenum, ileum, jejunum, small intestine, and cloaca). The results showed that the addition of CEGK had a significant effect (P<0.05) on esophageal length, crop diameter, and proventriculus diameter, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on gizzard diameter, duodenum length, jejunum length, ileum length, small intestine length, and cloaca diameter. In conclusion, dried water hyacinth can be used as an alternative feed ingredient in male duck rations up to a level of 15% without disrupting the function and development of the digestive tract.
