Abstrak

This study aims to determine whether students’ mathematical problem-solving ability taught using the problem-based learning model assisted by GeoGebra is higher than that of students taught using conventional learning in Grade IX of State Junior High School 45 Medan in the academic year 2025/2026. The research method used was a quasi-experimental method. The sample of this study consisted of two classes, namely class IX-2 as the control class and class IX-3 as the experimental class. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the mathematical problem-solving ability of students in the experimental class showed a significant improvement with an average pretest score of 56.13 and a posttest score of 81.33. The results of the mathematical problem-solving ability test of students in the control class also showed significant improvement with an average pretest score of 57.7 and a posttest score of 73.23. Based on the t-test results, it was obtained that t_hitung > t_tabel was 9.0418 > 2.002, which means that the mathematical problem-solving ability of students taught using the problem-based learning model assisted by GeoGebra is higher than that of students taught using conventional learning
