Program GESIT (Gerakan Edukasi Skoliosis untuk Pengetahuan dan Kesadaran Postur Tubuh) pada Siswa SMK PGRI 1 Cimahi
Abstract
Abstract
Scoliosis is a spinal disorder that occurs more often in adolescent Famele. Adolescence is the transitional phase from childhood to adult, which spans ages 11-24 years. The lack of awareness about health information causes scoliosis to be detected late. A community service program was carried out on November 10, 2025, for 27 students of class X in Office Management and Business Services. This counseling aims to increase knowledge, awareness of body posture, and healthy living behavior. The counseling was conducted through a lecture method with material on scoliosis covering Definition, Causes, Classification, Signs and Symptoms, Management, Complications, and Prevention, presented in the form of PowerPoint and leaflets, along with the distribution of validated Pre-tests and Post-tests. The results showed an increase in knowledge, evidenced by the Pre-test and Post-test results, and an awareness of body posture. Positive impacts are also seen from the active involvement of students and their high curiosity about scoliosis. Based on the results of the counseling, it is recommended that this counseling be provided in other schools using a more creative and innovative method to make it easier for students to understand the material.
